Traffic is currently very heavy in the area surrounding the road closure. Congestion is expected to increase throughout the morning due to the number of schools in the affected area.
VicRoads encourages drivers to use alternative arterial roads such as Riversdale Road and Cotham Road where possible, or if drivers do need to travel towards the closure, to allow a significant amount of extra time for their journey.
VicRoads engineers are adjusting traffic signals to assist with traffic flow.
The works are now expected to continue until before tomorrow morning's peak hour period. An update will be provided again when it is available.
