Updated: 29/04/10, 3.10pm. 

Road remains closed between Glenferrie Road and Auburn Road as emergency water works continue.

Barkers Road and surrounding arterial and local roads are expected to be heavily congested again this afternoon during school time and peak hour traffic. 

VicRoads encourages drivers to use alternative routes such as Riversdale Road and Cotham Road where possible, or if drivers do need to travel towards the closure, to allow a significant amount of extra time for their journey.

VicRoads will be are adjusting traffic signals to assist with traffic flow.

The works are expected to continue until before tomorrow morning's peak hour period.  An update will be provided again when it is available.28/04/2010 2:00 PM Until 30/04/2010 5:00 AM
