UPDATE: All southbound have been closed between Benalla and Violet Town due to a truck accident. Southbound traffic is being detoured off the Hume Freeway onto the Midland Highway at Benalla. Melbourne-bound traffic should use the Midland Highway, Maroondah Highway and the Melba Highway or Midland Highway and the Goulbourn Valley Highway via Shepparton. Emergency services are on site. VicRoads advises drivers to allow extra travel time when travelling through the area.

UPDATE: 2.57pm - Freeway still closed northbound at Baddaginnie exit (between Violet Town and Benalla) due to a multiple truck collision overnight.
Northbound traffic being diverted via Violet Town to Dooki -Violet Town Road onto the Midland Highway then back through Benalla (Link Road) before returning back to the Hume Freeway.
VicRoads advises drivers to expect heavy delays and to allow extra time to complete your journey.
