Police advise the Geelong Ring Road has been closed southbound (Colac-bound) at the Hamilton Highway due to a smoke over the road caused by a car fire.Emergency services are on site and directing traffic.Drivers travelling through the area are advised to seek an alternate route.

UPDATE: Highway closed in both directions. Diversions in place.
Eastbound traffic is being detoured along Burnside Road to Bannockburn.
Westbound traffic is being detoured along Friend in Hand Road to Fyansford-Gheringhap Road to the Midland Highway.
VicRoads crews are on site assisting with traffic management.
