Heavy delays in both directions due to road works and increased traffic from Melbourne (Dec '09 to end Jan '10). VicRoads advises drivers travelling from Melbourne to Torquay to take the Princes Highway through Geelong to the Surf Coast Highway and to avoid the Geelong Ring Road at Waurn Ponds during peak periods.VicRoads advises drivers to be aware of variable message signs advising delays and detours.
